Vaillant F.54 Fault Code: Gas Supply Fault Guide
The F.54 fault code on a Vaillant boiler means there is insufficient gas supply to operate the unit.
What the F.54 fault code means
The F.54 code is a gas supply fault. The boiler has detected that the gas supply is not sufficient to operate safely. This is a gas safety issue that must be checked by a professional.
Possible causes of the F.54 fault
- Gas isolator cock(s) closed — The gas isolation valves may be shut.
- Gas flow pressure is too low — The gas pressure at the boiler may be below the required level.
- Gas valve defective — The gas valve itself may have failed.
Can you fix it yourself?
-
Check that your gas isolation valves are fully open — Make sure the gas valve at the meter and any isolation valves near the boiler are open.
-
Check other gas appliances — If your hob, gas fire, or other gas appliances aren't working either, the issue is with your gas supply — contact your gas supplier.
If the valves are open and other appliances work fine, this is a gas safety issue that must be checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt to adjust gas pressure yourself.
